Refund and Return Policy

This policy applies to consumers who purchase products from Sumo Matcha through sumomatcha.se. Statutory consumer rights do not apply in the same way to purchases made on behalf of a business.
14-day right of withdrawal
As a consumer, you generally have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without providing a reason.
The withdrawal period begins on the day after you, or a person appointed by you, receives the product. If an order is delivered in several separate shipments, the withdrawal period begins on the day after you receive the final product or part of the order.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us clearly before the 14-day period has expired.
You can exercise your right of withdrawal by:
- using our electronic withdrawal function or
- emailing us at info@sumomatcha.se.
Please provide your name, email address, order number and details of the products you wish to return.
You do not need our approval to exercise your statutory right of withdrawal. However, we recommend contacting us before sending the products so that we can provide the correct return instructions and return address.
Returning your products
After notifying us that you wish to withdraw from your purchase, you must return the products without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the date on which you notified us.
Unless the return concerns a faulty, damaged or incorrectly delivered product, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the products.
You are responsible for the products until they have been received by us. We therefore recommend using a trackable shipping service and keeping your shipping receipt.
Products must be packaged carefully to prevent damage during transport.
Condition of returned products
You may inspect a product to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and function, in approximately the same way as you would be permitted to examine it in a physical shop.
You may be responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling the product beyond what was necessary to inspect it.
Whenever possible, please return products with their original packaging, labels, instructions and accessories. Missing or damaged packaging does not automatically remove your statutory right of withdrawal, but it may affect the value of the returned product.
Food products and sealed products
For food products such as matcha, hojicha, tea, powders and other ingredients, the product must remain unopened and its seal must remain intact to be returned under the right of withdrawal.
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- products that can deteriorate or expire rapidly;
- sealed products that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons after the seal has been broken;
- products made according to the customer’s specifications or otherwise clearly personalised; or
- other products that are legally exempt from the right of withdrawal.
Opened food products cannot be returned where the broken seal means that the product is no longer suitable for resale for health or hygiene reasons.
These exceptions do not affect your right to make a complaint if a product is faulty, damaged, contaminated, incorrectly described or incorrectly delivered.
Sale and promotional products
The statutory right of withdrawal also applies to products purchased at a reduced price, during a sale or as part of a promotion, unless the product is covered by a specific legal exception.
Refunds
If you exercise your right of withdrawal, we will refund the payments received for the returned products.
If you withdraw from your entire order, we will also refund the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Additional delivery costs resulting from your choice of a more expensive or expedited delivery method will not be refunded.
We will make the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving your notification that you wish to withdraw from the purchase.
However, we may withhold the refund until:
- we have received the returned products; or
- you have provided evidence that the products have been sent back,
whichever occurs first.
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase, unless another method has been expressly agreed. You will not be charged any fee for the refund.
Please note that your bank or payment provider may require additional processing time before the refund appears in your account.
Partial returns
You may exercise your right of withdrawal for individual products in an order.
When only part of an order is returned, the original standard delivery charge will normally not be refunded if the same delivery cost would have applied to the products that you keep.
Damaged, faulty or incorrect products
Please inspect your order when it arrives.
Contact us as soon as possible if a product is damaged, faulty, contaminated, incorrectly described or if you have received the wrong product. Please include your order number, a description of the issue and, where relevant, photographs showing the product and packaging.
Where a complaint is valid, we will handle the matter in accordance with applicable consumer legislation. Depending on the circumstances, this may include replacement, correction, a price reduction or a refund.
Sumo Matcha will cover reasonable return costs for products that are confirmed to be faulty, damaged or incorrectly delivered.
Your statutory rights concerning faulty products are not limited by this policy.
Exchanges
We do not guarantee direct exchanges.
The simplest way to obtain another product is normally to exercise your right of withdrawal for the original product and place a new order separately.
Orders that have not yet been shipped
Contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel or change an order.
We will try to assist you, but we cannot guarantee that an order can be changed or stopped once it has entered processing or has been shipped.
If the order has already been shipped, the ordinary withdrawal and return procedure applies.
