Sumo Matcha Ceremonial grade — what makes it the ultimate matcha, sourced from Uji Kyoto Japan

Ceremonial Matcha — Pure. Simple. From Uji

Our Ceremonial grade is the purest matcha we offer — sourced from Uji, Kyoto, and made for one thing: a clean, smooth cup whisked with water.

Where it comes from

We work with growers in Uji, Kyoto — one of Japan's most respected matcha regions. The leaves are shade-grown, stone-ground and packed into an airtight container to lock in freshness from the moment they leave Japan.

What makes it ceremonial

Ceremonial grade uses the youngest, most delicate leaves from the first harvest. The result is a naturally smooth, slightly sweet matcha with a vibrant green color and no bitterness. It's made to be enjoyed with water — not milk — so the flavor can speak for itself.

EU Organic certified

All our matcha is EU Organic certified. No synthetic pesticides, no artificial additives — just clean matcha, verified at every step from farm to your door.

How to brew it

Sift 1–2g of matcha into your bowl. Add a small amount of hot water (around 70–80°C) and whisk in a quick W-motion until frothy. Top up with more water and enjoy. That's it.

The Sumo standard

Ceremonial, barista or culinary — every bag we sell is clearly labelled, honestly sourced and something we'd be happy to drink ourselves. No compromises.
